The works of composer Laurence Sherr have received over 250 performances in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, North America, and the Caribbean, including in 30 states across the U.S. An array of awards recognize his compositions.
The creation of Holocaust-memorial compositions and Holocaust remembrance events, along with international lecturing, research, and teaching, are activities related to his interest in music and the Holocaust. Other areas of creative work include pieces for solo performers and music inspired by nature. His music for flute and percussion is covered in the Florida State University doctoral treatise “Laurence Sherr: Chamber Music for Flute”.
Sherr is the founder and clarinetist of the Atlanta band
Oy Klezmer!. He is the Associate Producer of the award-winning medical educational film Detection of Suspected Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome: Three Case Examples.
