Elegy and Vision
for solo cello (1993)

commemorating my brother Edwin Neal Sherr (1961-1986)

Edwin Neal Sherr was named after my mother's sister Edith, who perished at Auschwitz.

Performances of Elegy and Vision at Holocaust Memorial Concerts
eventually led me to make the connection with my family history,
and decide to actively engage in composing Holocaust commemorative works.
