Penelope B. Prime is Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics & Finance, Coles College of Business, at Kennesaw State University, and Director of the China Research Center (www.chinacenter.net). She is also working with the India-China-America Institute (www.icainstitute.org). She earned her Ph.D. in economics at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Prime has taught a variety of courses including microeconomic and macroeconomic theory, international trade and finance, economic development, comparative economic systems, managerial economics and international business in the M.B.A. for Experienced Professionals program, and the international business course for the University System of Georgia's online WebMBA.
In both teaching and research, Dr. Prime focuses on international economics. She has written numerous chapters, articles, and papers dealing with international trade and economic development. Her main interest is Asian economies. Dr. Prime has lived in China, and has traveled widely in Asia, Europe and Africa.
In addition to teaching at Kennesaw State, Dr. Prime has worked with the China Division at the World Bank and the Eurasia Branch, International Programs, at the U.S. Bureau of the Census in Washington, D.C. Dr. Prime also consults with companies doing business in China.
